Good Evening,
Here is your WMnow update for what has been going on in the Silhill area since our last message and what the team has been up to.
Crime Update: There was an interference with vehicle on Alston Road which happened at 2330hrs on 02/09/2026 whereby offenders have attempted to remove the front bumper from a White Peugeot 208. The victim disturbed the offenders who made off in a white vehicle; no other details are known for the vehicle involved.
There was a residential Burglary on Lode Lane which happened between 15.30hrs on 06/09/2026 - 00.45hrs on 07/09/2026 whereby the offender has gained access to the property by drilling the lock on the rear door. A search inside the property was conducted, and several high value items were stolen from within. Enquires are ongoing.
There was an interference with vehicle on Alston Road which happened between 05.38hrs - 05.40hrs on 02/09/2026 whereby an unknown offender stood in the road blocking the victim's vehicle from progressing. The offender has attempted to gain access, unsuccessfully via the driver's door. The victim has then driven off from the location.
There has been a Theft From Motor Vehicle on Cornyx Lane which happened at 02.09hrs on 07/09/2026 whereby an unknown offender has gained access to unlocked Grey Nissan Qashqai and stole a small compartment tray and a £1 coin.
There was a Theft Of Motor Vehicle on Broomfields Close which happened between 15.00hrs - 20.00hrs on 08/09/2026 whereby the offender stole a Grey BMW 318 which was parked locked and secured outside the address.
Good News:
The team have issued a number of Community Protection Warnings based upon information we have received about anti-social behaviour in the area. The suspects have been located and dealt with them now firmly on our radar going forward.
A suspected drug dealer in the area has been stopped and searched following a short chase. Class B drugs have been located and seized, and the male is now going through the process to deal with the possession.
The team jumped in to assist with a high-risk missing person who was a vulnerable child who was able to be safely located and returned to loved ones thanks to the help from our officers.
